Kids Ministry

Shadow Mountain Kids partners with parents to raise the next generation of disciples who seek, serve, and share Christ. We strive to be a place kids love, parents trust, and leaders are excited to serve: safe and caring, fun enough that kids want to come back, and designed so that the Biblical truth they learn actually sticks through small groups and large-group experiences every weekend.

Weekend Services

Weekend Services

Safe. Fun. All about Jesus. Every weekend kids worship, learn from the Bible, and connect with caring small group leaders, in ways that fit how each child learns best.

Click the tabs below for more details on our various programs!

Leaving your little ones can be tough, so we want you to feel completely at ease! In our nursery, your child will enjoy a clean, safe, and nurturing environment designed just for them. Our caring and friendly volunteers provide loving attention as your babies (birth - 3-year olds) dance to music, listen to Bible stories, create fun crafts, and play with other little ones.

We invite you to visit the nursery anytime to see the wonderful experiences we offer! You'll find us on the first floor of the Generations Building next to the Cafe, ready to welcome your family!

We partner with families to build strong spiritual foundations in little hearts and minds. Our prayer is that every preschooler will come to know Jesus as their Maker, Savior, and Friend. Starting at age 4, kids learn big truths from God's Word (who God is, what He's like, how to pray, worship, and share His love) through hands-on crafts, sensory play, and creative storytelling designed just for them.

  • Sunday School (Saturday 5:00 pm): Bible lessons, activities, and snacks in a small classroom setting.
  • Kids Blast Jr. (Sunday@ 9:00 & 10:45 am): A large-group experience with live worship, Bible lessons, and games that reinforce what kids learned.

Elementary kids are curious, eager learners, which makes this a key season for building a faith that lasts. We build on what they learned in nursery and preschool through Bible stories, activities, and real conversations that help them understand who God is and how much He loves them. With caring leaders and friends around them, kids learn to ask questions, talk about what they believe, and grow in a personal relationship with Jesus.

  • Sunday School (Saturday 5:00 pm, Kids Building): Bible lessons, activities, and games in a classroom setting.
  • Kids Blast (Sundays@ 9:00 & 10:45 am, Event Center): A large-group/small group experience with live worship, Bible lessons, activities and games. See the Kids Blast tab for more details!

ELEVATE: Special Needs Ministry

Every child is created in God's image and has a place in His family, and in ours. At Shadow Mountain, we believe church should be a place where every family feels welcomed, understood, and supported, including families of children with special needs.

ELEVATE is a class designed just for kids with special needs, where they can learn about Jesus in a safe, caring, and sensory-friendly environment. Our trained, loving volunteers get to know each child personally and adjust activities to fit how your child learns best. Whether your child thrives with extra support, a quieter space, or a little more movement, we want them to experience God's love in a way that makes sense to them.

When and Where

ELEVATE meets every Sunday during the 10:45 am service in the Kids Building.

Your First Visit

We know trusting someone new with your child is a big step. That's why we encourage parents to stay with their child for their first ELEVATE service. You can meet our team, see the room, and share anything that will help your child feel comfortable before deciding to drop them off. We'd love to partner with you and walk alongside your family.

Have questions? We'd love to hear from you. reach out to kids@shadowmountain.org

FAQs

Come Serve With Us!

Children's ministry is vital to our church, as it lays a solid spiritual foundation for the next generation. It is where faith comes alive through play, stories, and friendships! By engaging children in meaningful ways, we help them understand biblical truth, develop strong values, and build lasting relationships with their peers, mentors, and the Lord. By diving in, you get to be a part of their spiritual journey, helping kids discover the joy of their faith while having a blast. Join us in making church the best part of the week for our kids—your energy and enthusiasm can truly make a difference!

Come by the Kids Building Lobby during any of our weekend services to hear about the many opportunities to get involved in our ministry.

Kids Baptism

After salvation, the decision to be baptized is the next step of faith in the life of a believer. We love to see kids come to know Jesus as their Savior and then choose to get baptized! At SMCC, we provide every child the opportunity to share a short testimony and be baptized in the worship center during one of our main services. We recommend that kids are at least entering third grade before deciding to participate in baptism. If your child is younger than third grade, please contact Shadow Mountain Kids Ministry to discuss baptism.

Child Dedication

Child dedication is a symbolic ceremony undertaken by Christian parents declaring their desire and intention to raise their child to know and follow the Lord (Prov. 22:6). We desire to help you make this a meaningful life experience by partnering with you in prayer, fellowship, and providing resources as you begin this journey as a family. You will have the opportunity to participate by standing before friends and family to read a blessing for your child and receive prayer.

Upcoming Child Dedication Ceremony & Class Dates:
Sunday, October 18, 2026 @ 12:15 pm (Parent Information Class)

Saturday, November 14, 2026 @ 3:00 pm (Dedication)
The required Parent/Child Dedication Class is designed to communicate more effectively what this step is all about in your parenting journey.
